For restaurant Loft88, we designed a new hospitality location in Bilthoven last year. At the beginning of 2025, the LOFT88 Bilthoven restaurant was completed. In 2024, LOFT88 rented a corner property of 330 m² at the Vinkeplein in Bilthoven. The concrete shell could be fully customized and designed to their own taste.

After the successful design project for the LOFT88 restaurant in IJsselstein, Global Architects was once again asked to design the hospitality location in Bilthoven. The design is based on the stylistic characteristics of LOFT88, using natural light materials—though this time with a refreshing twist.

Striking oak wood room dividers and planters create many cozy corners within the restaurant. This gives guests a feeling of intimacy, while the exciting sightlines create a sense of openness. The contrast between these two themes makes the experience of LOFT88 in Bilthoven truly unique!

Hanging jute cloths beneath the concrete ceiling add rhythm and ambiance to the restaurant.

open kitchen
The kitchen, designed by BEUK Horeca, is integrated into the interior design. Through recurring arches, the kitchen maintains a direct relationship with the restaurant. This open kitchen adds atmosphere and character to the space.

The LOFT88 Bilthoven design is characterized by several eye-catching design solutions. Throughout the restaurant, the theme of the arch recurs. The arches are implemented in various ways—materialized using jute, travertine tiles, and plasterwork. The arches also create passageways to the restrooms and kitchen.

The floor is divided into four sections: a wooden herringbone pattern through the seating area, concrete ciré around the bar, travertine tiles in the restrooms, and rubber tiles in the kitchen.

de bar
The arch theme continues in the bar, which features a concrete ciré countertop and is tiled with rich mosaic tiles.
