Sustainability at its core, from venacular traditions to a modern and functional design and creating living enviroment that gives you the comfort. Renovation and extention of a barn-house in eikenlaan, the 1950s building facade is decaying and to save internal space the envelope will be covered with insulation allowing the building to be able to stay warm, dry allowing passive heating throught the floor to be used.
The double height ceiling in the living room will allow good ventialtion through out the house and also there will be decentralized heat recovery system for the living spaces. A minimalist approach is taken to the openings with full height windows and doors to allow the interaction with the surrounding garden creating optiomal views and also creates a perception of a greater indoor experience.

The roof will also be replaced with a smooth slate shingle tying in with the facade and also allowing pvp panels to be placed on top.
The Large roof windows have beed added to allow greater light into the bedrooms and living space. The ground floor includes the kitchen, dinning room, living room and mechanical room allowing a break between private and social spaces.
Choose of Materials
After the main construction work is ready, the finsih period will start. In several workshops during the design proces, we will select together with the client the final materials covering the floor, walls and ceiling.
